A store born from helping a friend.
A friend of mine has collected dolls for years.  One day she told me about a large doll store which is 150 miles away. Knowing she didn't want to drive herself, I offered to take her. I walked into the store and was taken back at the realness of the dolls. Every one was beautiful and realistic. They each had their own "personality". I discovered the magic and joy with the purchase of my first doll.

Soon to follow was a weekend 250 miles away to see more dolls. Around that time I happen to enter a new bookstore only to find two doll magazines. Next I was ordering doll books and more magazines. Somehow along the way, the thought of having a doll store came to me. The ideas seem to flow through me, bubbling and swirling. I talked with my husband, children and friends about opening a store. With their blessings and encouragements, MY DOLL CASTLE was born.

Have fun shopping on our site, but if you can, visit our store to continue discovering the joy and magic!

Did you know: A doll is a model of a human being, often used as a toy for children. Dolls have traditionally been used in magic and religious rituals throughout the world, and traditional dolls made of materials like clay and wood are found in the Americas, Asia, Africa and Europe. The earliest documented dolls go back to the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece and Rome. Dolls being used as toys was documented in Greece around 100AD. They have been made as crude, rudimentary playthings as well as elaborate art. Modern doll manufacturing has its roots in Germany going back to the 15th century. With industrialization and the appearance of new materials like porcelain and plastic, dolls were increasingly mass produced. During the 20th century dolls became increasingly popular as collectibles.
