British Doll Artist Christine Orange was born in Carmarthen, South Wales and now has her studio in Malvern Hills, England. She is well known for her realistic and childlike sculpts. Her dolls are all very lifelike. Most of her dolls range in height from 30" - 38" in height but she has also made some smaller dolls about 18". Even though most of the dolls that Christine makes are based on anonymous images from magazines and catalogs, people tell her that the dolls look like her. "I'm sure this is true to a certain extent and the same probably applies to most doll artists" she says. "At shows, you can invariably match up dolls and their makers, just as you can with parents and children. I think this shows just how much of ourselves goes into the dolls."
